Obituaries

SHIRLEY COHEN, 85, of Tampa, died Feb. 3. She moved to Tampa over 30 years ago from her native, New York. She was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom. Survivors include daughters, Sandra Johnson of Tampa and Norma Mihlstin of Long Island; sister, Pauline Chaitow of Orlando; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. STEPHEN MARTIN KOBSA, 63, of Tampa, died Feb. 7. A native of New York he grew up in Hollywood and moved to Tampa nearly 30 years ago. Survivors include his daughter, Julie, of Atlanta. The family suggests memorials be made to Zinn Daily Chapel, c/o Temple Sinai of Hollywood, 1400 N. 46th Ave. Hollywood, FL 33024. (Segal Funeral Home, Beth David Chapel)

MORRIS “MOE” LAZAN, 85, died Jan. 26. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and the Berlin Crisis, serving as a fighter pilot. After the war he continued flying with the Air National Guard for 20 years. He also retired as vice-president of manufacturing for Wallace Silversmiths. Survivors include his wife, Dottie; daughter, Lisa; sister, Sylvia Ponemon; one grandson. The family suggests memorials be made to Temple Beth David in Spring Hill or HPH Hospice. SOLOMON LIEBER, 100, of Tampa, died Jan. 29. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved here in 1984 from Rockville, CT. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans. Survivors include his son, Michael Lieber, Dallas; daughter, Susan Rosenthal, Trinity; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to the Tampa Jewish Federation c/o P. J. Library Fund. (Curlew Hills Memory Gardens)
