Ancient Torah talk: David First, a founder of the Torah Rescue Project and curator of the Torah Museum, an organization dedicated to preserving ancient Torah scrolls, will give a presentation on Saturday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. A resident of Sun City Center, First will bring a collection of ancient scrolls and Torah ornaments.

Bingo: Monthly bingo sessions are held at Congregation Beth Shalom the first Saturday of the month, with the food concession opening at 6:30 p.m. and bingo beginning at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $15 for 20 games. Additional sheets are $1 each/six for $5. For additional information, call the synagogue at (813) 681-6547.

Book talk: Participate in a book discussion and Havdalah on Saturday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m.. The discussion will be about The People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. Bring a dessert to share.

Mitzvah day: The annual Mitzvah Day event begins at the temple with bagels and coffee on Sunday, April 18 before volunteers go out to various places in the community to do good deeds. For more information, call Phyllis Newman at 671-1707 or email her at phylnew@ verizon.net.
