High school scholarships offered for study in Israel
A three-year scholarship for students who would like to live in Israel and complete high school there is being offered to students 141/2 years old and older.
The scholarship includes flight, spending allowance, medical insurance, and a strong education with a highly academic curriculum. It is funded by the Jewish Agency for Israel (funded by the Jewish Federations of North America through annual federation campaigns) and the Ministry of Education, with the goal of creating ambassadors for Israel.
Scholarship winners are based in five schools throughout Israel, including secular, Modern Orthodox, and an Ultra Orthodox Chabad school. Elite Academy graduates receive a high school diploma with international recognition, plus the opportunity to learn a new language, grow spiritually, experience a new culture, and gain independence.
The program attracts Jewish teenagers from around the world, who include for example students from Spain, Belgium, Germany, South Africa, Canada and the U.S.
The Florida screening is tentatively scheduled for April 28 and 29. Those interested should contact Nancy Factor at factornancy@ yahoo.com.
