Hillel School students achieve success at regional science fair
Hillel School of Tampa placed in a variety of categories at the recent 2010 Hillsborough Regional Science & Engineering Fair.
Middle School awards included two Hillel students selected for the state science fair team. They were seventh-graders Golda Shaw, who placed first in the Zoology category and Ellie Rodriguez who won first place in the Behavioral Sciences and was the recipient of the Army Achievement Award.
Other Hillel School winners were eighth graders: Rebecca Haber, second place in Behavioral Sciences and recipient of American Psychological Association Award; Rachel Fishman, second place in Biochemistry; Arielle Glass, third place in Biochemistry and Samantha Sock, a merit award in Medicine & Health.
Seventh grade students receiving awards were: Danielle Brener, honorable mention in Behavioral Sciences and recipient of Joan Harris Memorial Award; and Talia Goldenberg, merit award in Zoology.
Sixth graders, all receiving merit awards, were Alexandra McMurray, Behavioral Sciences; Max Linsky, Medicine & Health; Gordon Linsky, Physics; Dominick Rapoport, Chemistry and Jacob Daniels, Mathematics
Elementary school students recognized at the science fair were :
• Fifth graders Hannah Miller, award of oustanding and Hannah Fishman, award of merit
• Fourth graders Jacob Grossman, award of excellence and Ethan Hinds, award of superior.
In addition, two groups of third grade students received awards of merit. They were Jordan Fox, Sydney Gold, Ben Axel and Stephanie Ross; and Shayna Heymann, Alexis Buchman, Gabe Shandles and Alyssa Chernin.
