Adult B’nai Mitzvah service: Class members Karen Haubenstock, Amanda Lees and Sandra Lees will lead the Adult B’nai Mitzvah service and read from the Torah on Friday, June 11 at 7:30 p.m. The adult students have spent a year preparing for this special night.

Annual dinner: The temple’s annual dinner and meeting will be held on Friday, June 4. A Shabbat dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the President’s Cup recipient will be honored. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Shabbat service at 7:30 p.m. A president-elect and new trustees will be installed. Call the temple office for cost.

Movie and pizza: Schaarai Zedek Summer Nights will premier this year on Friday, June 5 at 6 p.m. with pizza, ice cream and movies for the whole family. Everyone will dine together, and then adults will see a movie with a discussion led by Rabbi Richard Birnholz. Children will have their own family-friendly movie and special activities, too. There is no charge for this event, but RSVPs are necessary to the temple.

Broadway sing-a-long: Join

Cantor Riselle Bain as she leads us in a sing-a-long of favorite Broadway songs on Sunday, June 6 from 4-6 p.m. For more information, call the temple office.

Shabbat pre-neg: Join in a preservice Shabbat wine and cheese nosh on Friday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the foyer before services begin at 7:30 p.m. Come early to greet your friends and meet new ones at the once-amonth pre-Shabbat service reception.

Teen hangout night: An awesome summer hangout for those in grades 7-12 is planned on Wednesday, June 16 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Activities include Wii, movies, games, food and more, all for free. RSVP to Lindsey Morgan at 876-2377, ext. 221 or via e-mail: lmorgan@zedek.org.

Religious School registration: Registration for Schaarai Zedek’s Religious School 2010-2011 is open. Call the school office at 876- 2377, ext. 210 or 215 for more information. All children who are 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2010 are eligible to attend. A special non-member school registration is available on a one-time basis for grades Pre-K through 5. A non-member tuition fee applies.

Bowling: Enjoy family bowling night on Wednesday, June 23 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Pinarama Lanes, 5008 S. Dale Mabry Hwy. Cost is $7 for shoes and bowling. Food is available for purchase.

Catch the Rays: Watch the Tampa Bay Rays play the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday, June 27 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. To join a group from Schaarai Zedek, RSVP to the temple by June 16. Cost is $10 per person.

Get happy: A Shabbat happy hour will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 18. This is open to children and adults, who are welcome to participate in crafts and refreshments.

Shabbat dinner: A Congregational Shabbat dinner will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 18 following services. Call the synagogue for details.

Annual meeting: The congregational meeting, installation of the new board and an awards ceremony will be on Sunday, June 27 at 10 a.m. A complimentary brunch will be served. RSVPs appreciated.

Lunch and Learn: A lunchtime study group will hold its next meeting on Thursday, June 10 from 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. The class looks at some lesserknown books of the Bible.
