Tel Aviv bans any new skyscrapers downtown
Tel Aviv, whose skyline is visible along its beach, has outlawed the construction of new skyscrapers in the city center.
The new policy is part of the city’s Tel Aviv 2025 urban plan to control the face of the city in the future, Ynet reported. Buildings under construction can go forward, but the dozens in the planning stages have been dumped.
The ban does not extend to the eastern part of the city, which is expected to be flooded with high-rise buildings over 18 stories tall.
The Tel Aviv 2025 urban plan goal is to regulate and direct growth while expanding the city center preservation area.
