Obituaries

SAM ADELMAN, 95, of Tampa, died April 24. Born in New York City, he became a dance band pianist as a teenager before he began his career as a shoe salesman, eventually becoming vice president of marketing for the Bostonian Shoe Co. His work allowed for he and his late wife Evelyn to travel all over the world. After retiring from Bostonian Shoes, he volunteered with the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) and Senior Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE). During the overseas travels, he was a shoe manufacturing and marketing consultant and his wife taught English. He belonged to book clubs, played bridge and was a member of the Older, Wiser, Lively Seniors (OWLS). Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Harold and Maralyn Adelman; daughter Rita Zuckerman; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MARSHALL “AL” FRANK, 73, of Tampa, died May 18. He was a manufacturer of jewelry parts and a member of Congregation Kol Ami. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Francine; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Susan Frank, Craig and Eva Frank, Glenn and Lesli Frank, Mark Frank, Larry and Cathy Frank and Richard and Bridget Frank; daughters, Michele Frank and Terri Hogston. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. (Segal Funeral Home, Beth David Chapel)

JACK B GRANT, 92, of Boynton Beach, died May 3. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 6th Calvary and being part of the second day invasion of Normandy. He had an international imitation leather goods business for many years. He moved to Florida in 1976 and was in the honor guard in Boynton Beach and Citizens on Patrol. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Shirley; daughter and son-in-law, Iris and Martin Onrot, Tampa and Montreal; sister Beatrice Bergman, Palm Beach; four grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of West Palm Beach. (Dorfman Chapel)
