Eric Steckler to receive third annual PRIMER Award
On Sunday Feb. 26 at 10 a.m., Dr. Eric Steckler will receive the third annual PRIMER (Promoting Responsibility in Middle East Reporting) award during a ceremony at Congregation Beth Shalom, 1325 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater.
The award will be presented at a joint meeting of the Greater Tampa Bay B’nai B’rith Unit 2603 and the Jewish Community Relations Councils of the Jewish Federation of Pinellas & Pasco Counties and the Tampa Jewish Community Center & Federation.
The award recognizes the Tampa Bay resident who best exemplifies the PRIMER motto that “silence is not golden” when dealing with Israel and Middle East issues. It was awarded first to PRIMER President Norm Gross and last year to AIPAC co-chair Herb Swarzman.
A full bagel and lox brunch will be served at the event. Cost is $10 and is payable at the door. Reservations are required. For more information or to RSVP, call B’nai B’rith President Stuart Berger at (727) 480-5721.
