Rabbi Sharon Cohen- Anisfeld will conduct the installation Rabbi Sharon Cohen- Anisfeld will conduct the installation Installation Weekend: A variety of activities are planned for the weekend of Nov. 16-18 to celebrate the installation of Rabbi Bryan Mann as the congregation’s new spiritual leader. On Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., Rabbi Sharon Cohen-Anisfeld, new president of Hebrew College, will perform Rabbi Mann’s installation at Shabbat services, with an oneg to follow.

On Saturday, Nov. 17 at 9:30 a.m. there will be a bagel breakfast and study session with Rabbis Mann and Cohen- Anisfeld. This study session will be followed by a brief worship service.

That evening at 5:30 p.m. there will be a special gathering for congregants of all ages. It will begin with a potluck dinner and will be followed by a Havdalah service, special programming, and entertaining games.

On Sunday, Nov. 18, the congregation will sponsor a Thanksgiving fair and food drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Immediately following this will be a barbecue with games and activities. The Men’s Club will be hosting an “all age” soccer match on the synagogue grounds. Following the game, folks will sit around a fire pit for music and s’mores.

Thanksgiving fair, food drive: On Sunday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. a Thanksgiving Fair will be held on the grounds of the synagogue. This free event will feature a wide variety of vendors selling unique gift items and those attending are asked to bring non-perishable food that will be collected and distributed through the local food bank. The fair will also have plenty of food, music and surprises for the entire family

Interfaith breakfast: One of the goals of the congregation is to have dialogues with neighboring faith-based communities to help bring about peace and understanding, while broadening horizons. With this in mind, there will be an interfaith clergy/lay leadership breakfast at the synagogue on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. To join this event, contact Administrative Director Jenny Allen by Nov. 5 at (813) 681-6547 or email

Page Turners: Join in a discussion of Three Floors Up by Eshkol Nevo on Monday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. This novel tells the stories of three Israeli neighbors whose lives take unexpected turns. A light dinner will be served. BYOB.

Bible and bagels: A monthly bible and bagels session will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on the third Saturday of each month. The class will study the weekly Torah portion and engage in the words of Torah over a nosh and coffee. All are welcome.
