Tu B’Shevat: The temple will hold its annual celebration of Tu B’Shevat on Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 7-8 p.m. via Zoom, with a special brief seder. Congregants will be emailed instructions about getting the fruits and wine or grape juice needed for the seder.

Book club: The temple’s book club will continue reading one book per month and holding virtual discussions on them. All are welcome to read the books and join

Sudan joins Israel-Arab treaty

(JTA) – Sudan announced Jan. 6 that it has officially joined the Abraham Accords, the U.S.-sponsored treaty signed by the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain normalizing relations with Israel.

The African nation’s intentions to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel was announced two months ago by the Trump administration. Sudan becomes the fourth Arab country to do so in recent months with U.S. backing, along with the other accord signers and Morocco.

The Abraham Accords are named for the shared patriarch of Jews and Muslims. in discussions. The next book talk will be on Monday, Feb. 15. The book is “Fifth Words for Rain,” by Lemmie Pisha.

Healing service: Several years ago the congregation had monthly healing services and now they are back. They will be brief, no longer than half an hour, and led by Delyse Axinn.
