Florida Holocaust Museum’s new app enhances visitor experience

The Florida Holocaust Museum has gone mobile, introducing a new app aimed at enhancing people’s visit to the museum.

With the new free app, folks can listen to the museum’s audio tour, watch interviews with Holocaust Survivors, interact with artifacts, and more. All they need is a smartphone or tablet.

Thanks to the museum’s partnership with Dr. Davide Tanasi and his team from the Institute of Digital Exploration (IDEx) at the University of South Florida, app users can explore museum artifacts deeper by interacting with three-dimensional renderings.

Digital photogrammetry is a technique that allows three-dimensional digital reconstruction of physical artifacts using a collection of high resolution photographs, a controlled light environment, and processed with specific software based on the pattern of recognition of algorithms. Interactive artifact models have been integrated into the app, so be sure to check out this feature when using the smartphone guide.

The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store by searching for The Florida Holocaust Museum or access the web app by using the link: https:// tour.fhm.yourcultureconnect.com/ To listen to the audio tour while touring the museum, use personal headphones or earbuds.
