Shoppers who purchased an acrylic menorah at Target for about $20 anytime from October through December 2015 should take note that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall order for the menorahs.

Though the manufacturer was not named in the recall notice, the commission reports that the defective menorahs, made in China, can melt when the candles are burning and pose a fire hazard.

The firm has received eight reports of the product melting, including three reports of fire. No property damage or injuries have been reported.

The commission noted that about 2,600 of the menorahs were sold. This recall involves clear acrylic Hanukkah menorahs in a pyramid design that are 10.5 inches long, 1.2 inches wide and 2.3 inches high. Model number 240-14-0169 and bar code can be found on a round white label on the side of the menorah.

Consumers who have one of the defective menorahs should contact Target at 1-800 440- 0680 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or go online at www.target.com, click the Help section at the bottom of the homepage, then click Product Recalls or click on the Recall tab on Target’s Facebook page for more information.
