Happiness expert Carin Rockind will serve as guest speaker at a virtual fundraiser put on by the Congregation Schaarai Zedek Sisterhood at a new event dubbed “Elevate You” on Monday, Jan. 11 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The event was created after the annual Franci Golman Rudolph Star Event for 2020 was canceled, due to the pandemic.
Rockind will speak via Zoom on how to grow after trauma, the power of purpose, and the benefits of community. Her presentation will be followed by a “Kibbitz with Carin” Patron Party for sponsors at $100 or above. A recording of the program will also be available to sponsors from 7-8 p.m. that evening.
Having survived armed robbery, domestic abuse, multiple miscarriages, infertility, and more, at age 36 Rockind left a lucrative executive post and earned a masters’ degree in applied positive psychology. Rockind has taught thousands to elevate their lives and to live their own dreams, becoming a sought-after speaker and the creator of Women’s Global Happiness Day. She is author of “Wonderful You,” and host of the PurposeGirl podcast.
With the stress of the pandemic affecting us all in one way or another, Rockind promises that she will provide those in attendance the tools to activate their highest self.
As the primary fundraiser for 2020-2021, Elevate You will allow Sisterhood to continue to support the teacher assistant program for Congregation Schaarai Zekek’s Religious School; complete the third installment of a three-year financial commitment to Camp Coleman; support natural disaster relief efforts; fund SchZFTY Youth Group programs; provide financial assistance to community organizations such as Tampa Jewish Family Services, Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services and the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience in New Orleans; and fund projects around the world through the Women of Reform Judaism.
To register, go to zedek.org. Donations begin at $18 with sponsorships ranging from $54 to $2,500. For more information, contact Andi Parker, chair of Sisterhood’s winter fundraiser, at (561) 358-6424 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
